LOVE AGE TEST
24 love scenarios that reveal your Love Age.
24 questions · about 3–5 min
Love age describes the role you tend to take in a romantic relationship: looking after and guiding your partner, or feeling comfortable being cared for and asking for affection. The −8 to +8 year gap is a metaphor for these roles, not an actual age difference, mental age, or maturity score.
In any relationship, some people tend to speak up first, plan things first, and fix problems first, while others are more comfortable being taken care of and saying whatever's on their mind. We call these two vibes "older energy" and "younger energy," but they don't have much to do with your actual age. Two people the same age can still end up as the big sib and the little sib in a relationship.
It's not fixed, either. The same person with a different partner often turns into a different version of themselves: someone who carried everything alone last time might be the one throwing playful tantrums this time, and someone their friends call fiercely independent can get really clingy with a person who knows how to catch them.
So this quiz measures a feeling, not a personality label. What it's really asking is: who do you naturally become around someone you like?
The 24 scenarios are split into four parts, starting with everyday chats and habits and going all the way to how you react once you've really fallen for someone. Every answer lands somewhere on these six dimensions.
Caretaking
In love, how naturally do you slide into the caretaker role?
Leading
When the relationship needs someone to move things forward, are you that person?
Holding Space
When your person is having a rough time, are you more the one who catches them, or the one hoping to be caught?
Craving Closeness
How much do you love being taken care of, replied to, and kept company?
Taking Ownership
When a problem comes up, do you say "I'll handle it" or "I'd like them to handle it first"?
Puppy-Love Energy
Does love turn you into someone who goofs off, talks nonsense, and gets a little moody?
These are the 12 types so far. Which one you land on depends on who you're thinking about while you answer.

Add the 15 subtypes built from your six dimensions, and that's 180 combos in total. You don't just get a name. You get a whole write-up based on your own answers.
As soon as you finish, you'll get a Love Age Gap (somewhere between −8 and +8 years), one of 12 main types, and a subtype made from pairing up your six dimensions. You can also send it to your partner and see the role gap between the two of you.
Every answer maps to a spot on the six dimensions, and together those six decide your age gap, so the same answers always give you the same result. Curious what each dimension means? It's all in What This Quiz Measures.
It measures where you tend to stand in a close relationship: are you more often the one who looks after the other person, makes the call, and holds their feelings, or the one who's comfortable being looked after, says what they want, and messes around? Your result is a Love Age Gap between −8 and +8 years, plus one of 12 types. It has nothing to do with your actual age.
